After a solo round the world voyage on Kifouine between 2003 and 2006, a sailing record between Brittany and Mauritius with Défi Intégration in 2010, then a year spent with Team Jolokia in 2012, Éric Bellion entered the Vendée Globe in 2016 in order to pass on the message about the importance of diversity. He finished ninth, but first newcomer, after 99 days and stated at the finish that “by experiencing and doing different things with different people, you could find what you were looking for.” Four years later, Éric Bellion decided to return to the famous solo race around the world with the same message, but wanted to show what he could achieve in this joint adventure by creating a joint project with a group. Once again in the colours of Commeunseulhomme, and backed by the Altavia firm, the skipper wants to take part in all of the IMOCA Globe Series races in 2022 aboard Hubert (Jean Le Cam’s IMOCA), before acquiring a brand new boat in 2023.
