A native of Bristol and Breton at heart, 36-year-old Sam Goodchild is a talented sailor who has brilliantly made his mark in many different classes. He knows ocean racing like few other sailors of his generation. Class 40, Figaro Bénéteau, Ultim, Ocean Fifty, IMOCA, Sam is a skipper who shines equally well in crewed and solo races. After competing in his first Vendée Globe in 2024, finishing in 9th place on a previous generation boat, Sam was chosen by Charlie Dalin to succeed him at the helm of the Imoca MACIF Santé Prévoyance until the end of 2026.
