Champagne Canard-Duchêne

It was in 1868, in Ludes that the Maison Canard-Duchêne was born, the result of a romance between Léonie Duchêne, the daughter of a winemaker, and Victor Canard, a cooper. Both decided to combine their savoir-faire to reveal the marvellous potential offered by this hillside located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. For many years, Canard-Duchêne maintains an inspired relationship with nature and has been committed to respecting the environment. Indeed, 100% of the vineyards are now certified VDC (Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne) and since 2009, the House has launched a cuvée certified Organic Agriculture.

The Canard-Duchêne trademark is a blend of spontaneity and mastery. Cellar Master, Laurent Fédou, creates the assemblage from the finest parcels of vines from the region by blending the classic varietals with a particular attention to Pinot Noir, the House’s signature. It is this balance between instinct and savoir-faire that gives Canard-Duchêne its character.

The iconic grape variety is the symbol of the House. It draws its strength from the remarkable soil of the Montagne de Reims, the fruit of 70 million year of evolution and the unique combination of chalk, clay, sand and limestone.

Champagne Canard-Duchêne owes its style of the power and elegance of the Pinot Noir. It accounts for between 40 and 70% of the House’s wine composition. It is expertly blended with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.

Each flute is an invitation to be transported by a contemporary sense of audacity. The promise of festive celebrations and moments to savor, expertly crafted by Canard-Duchêne.
